Fastener Market Results For The First Half Of 2025
The fastener market in Russia continues to be influenced by various factors. Despite demand from the mechanical engineering and construction sectors, the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects, the market continues to experience a decline in production and competition with products from foreign manufacturers.
According to the results of 2024, Russian enterprises produced almost 189 thousand tons of fasteners. From January to April 2025, Russian companies produced 55.64 thousand tons of fasteners, which is 11% lower than the figure for the same period in 2024. In the self-tapping screws segment, market players emphasize the leading role of imports - almost 89%.
Among the industry challenges, experts note the influence of economic factors, the need to develop import-substituting production, as well as the creation of new standards for fastening systems, in particular, for the automotive industry. It is also worth noting the trends that are characteristic of fasteners in 2025. For example, an increase in the share of high-strength fasteners that can withstand significant loads, and the use of 3D printing technology for complex or individual designs.
The Prommetiz Association also shared the results of the hardware industry for the first half of 2025. Experts note a continuing decline in the physical volumes of finished product shipments. In physical terms, the ratio was 90.3%, in monetary terms - 81.3%. The trend in average prices for products continues to trend downward. The Association also records a continuing decline in the level of production capacity utilisation. At the same time, it is worth noting a decrease in the level of purchasing power of consumers of these products, as well as an increase in imports of hardware, primarily fasteners, welding wire and ropes.
