Weldex 2025 and Fastenex 2025 Set a Record for Attendance and Proved to be Leading Industry Exhibitions

 

This year, Weldex and Fastenex have shown impressive results and set new records.

  • 8,004 unique visitors from 76 regions of Russia and 20 countries – this is an all-time record;
  • The number of Weldex visitors increased by 31% compared to last year;
  • Fastenex audience grew by 11% compared to last year;
  • 196 exhibitors from Russia, Belarus, China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and India;
  • 85% of the  participants found new customers.

Of special note is the achievements of the business program. 19 events were held involving 82 speakers. More than 80 professionals took part in the National Weldex 2025 Welding Cup of Russia and Women in Welding Contest. In total, 745 people attended the business program events, which is 45% more than in 2024.

Main Plenary Session on the Strategy of Welding Development in Modern Reality

The moderator is Albena Vasilyeva, an international expert in the field of welding equipment and consumables from the Russian Scientific and Technical Welding Society (RSTWS). 

 

Andrey Lotsmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Council for Technical Regulation and Standardization under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, delivered a welcoming speech. Then the speakers shared important information with the audience in various areas: from legislative regulation and statistics to technical and standardization aspects. 

 

Panel Discussion called "Personnel Challenge. Problem of Education"

The moderator is Alexander Mullin, Director of the RSTWS; the co–moderator is Airat Fayrushin, Head of the Department of Ufa State Petroleum Technical University. 

 

Experienced professionals involved in the systems of secondary vocational, higher and additional professional education discussed the issues of competent personnel training to cover the real needs of the welding industry. At the end of the discussion, awards were given to the winners of Weldex 2025 Young Welding Process Engineers Championship held by the RSTWS with the support of the National Welding Industry Development Association.

 

Round table discussion on promising technological solutions in the field of 3D printing

The moderator is Olga Ospennikova, Executive Director of the Additive Technology Development Association, Doctor of Engineering, Advisor to the President of TVEL JSC. 

 

The participants discussed current issues in the field of additive technology: industrial implementation and control over their use, economic feasibility and payback, increasing software efficiency and developing talent pool, ans case studies of using 3D printing in production. 

 

First Russian Fasteners Conference during Fastenex 2025

 

During the event, experts presented reports in four areas:

  • Production of metric fasteners in Russia, trends of 2025, prospects (moderated by Alexander Ostashev, Editor-In-Chief of the Fasteners, Adhesives, Tools and... Magazine);
  • Development of online fasteners sales (moderated by Nadezhda Belkina, Sales Director of the Fasteners Center);
  • Manufacture of fasteners for construction in Russia. Forecasts and conclusions (moderated by Vyacheslav Tarasov, Coordinator of the Fastener Club, CEO of the Fasteners Center);
  • Import of fasteners (moderated by Vyacheslav Tarasov, Coordinator of the Fastener Club, CEO of the Fasteners Center);

 

Special Projects of the Business Program

 

National Weldex Welding Cup of Russia

 

The annual open professional competition in the welding industry identifies the best professionals in three Professional Welder and Student Welder categories. Traditionally, the championship was co-held by the Moscow Intersectoral Alliance of Chief Welding. This year's partners of the competition are ELSVAR, ESAB, SovPlym, ITAVA STAR, TSS Group, representative of HUGONG in Russia, Argon Gas Processing Company, as well as the Certification Center and TSNIITMASH Association of Specialists in Independent Certification of Welding Inspection. 

 

Women in Welding Contest

 

The contest is designed to reward the achievements of welders who have made a significant contribution to the development of their industry and are an example to their colleagues. This year, the event was held for the fifth time and sparked great interest among the professional community. 

Given the positive feedback, the organizers submitted the applications of some participants to the organizing committee of the Woman of the XXI Century International Public Recognition Award, which aims to identify talents and inspire women to actively participate in public, entrepreneurial, scientific and other fields of activity. 

 

Best Implemented Innovative Welding Projects in 2024-2025 Workshop
 

The moderator is Yuri Podkopaev, President of the Moscow Intersectoral Alliance of Chief Welding.

 

The event was focused on the results of the Best Implemented Innovative Welding Projects in 2024-2025 competition among welding supervisors.

 

As a result, the following participants were awarded:

  • Best project in the development of advanced welding technology – SMD;
  • Best project in scientific welding developments - Plasmamash;
  • Import independence in welding – VPG Laser One;
  • Best project in tooling development and welding mechanization - IVS PKF;
  • Best project in welding automation - VECTOR GROUP;
  • Best project in environmental protection and eco-friendliness of welding - Eurolux Group-Moscow.
