Overview of the Russian furniture market 2025: results, statistics and transformation vectors

Key indicators, current trends and prospects for the development of the industry

Statistics and key indicators for 2025

According to Rosstat, which is cited by the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia (AMDPR), at the end of 2025, furniture production in Russia amounted to 98 million units, which is 1.1% higher than the level of 2024. In value terms, the market added 4.9% and reached 547.6 billion rubles.

However, the structure of this growth remains heterogeneous. There is a noticeable gap between the segments:

// In the household furniture segment, production decreased by 3.3% to 71.9 million units;
// The production of office furniture increased by 15.6% and amounted to 26.1 million units.

Experts attribute the revival in the commercial segment to the resumption of active construction of office real estate. In particular, the production of metal office furniture increased by 11%, wooden - by 20.9%.

Alexander Shestakov, President of the Association of Furniture Producers, draws attention to the fact that, despite the formal slight growth of the market in physical terms, when applying the comparable methodology of Rosstat, which was in effect until the summer of 2025, the volume of furniture production at the end of the year actually decreased by almost 10%.

One of the most noticeable changes in the sales structure was the shift towards corporate orders. If earlier the share of the retail segment (B2C) was about 62%, then in 2025 it decreased to 52%, while the share of the B2B direction increased to 48%. According to market participants, the growth in sales in the segment of work with organizations largely compensated for the decline in private demand. Experts attribute the reduction in interest in certain categories of household furniture, including kitchens and mattresses, to the high cost of credit products and a slowdown in the commissioning of new housing.

Top Industry Trends for 2026

Despite external restrictions, the market continues to look for new growth points. Among the key trends that will determine the development of the industry in 2026 are the following:

// Competition through quality. In a saturated market, companies are increasingly relying on design, sustainability, product life and service.
// Customization and modularity. The demand for compact housing supports the demand for modular, transformable and individual furniture solutions.
// Turnkey format. Buyers are increasingly choosing not individual pieces of furniture, but ready-made interior solutions in a single style.
// Digitalization of sales. Online channels continue to strengthen their positions: in a number of categories, up to 79% of purchases are made on online platforms.
// Diversification of niches. Additional opportunities are formed in projects for developers, the HoReCa segment, medical and cosmetology clinics.

Thus, 2025 has become a transitional stage for the furniture industry. After a period of turbulence, the industry not only adapted to the new conditions, but also began to build its own ecosystem.

Despite the dependence on imports of a number of high-quality materials and components, the market continues to move towards import substitution, expanding production competencies and searching for new formats of work with the end customer.

We invite manufacturers and suppliers of furniture fasteners to take part in the Fastenex 2026 International Exhibition of Fasteners and Tooling, which will be held from October 6 to 9, 2026 at the Crocus Expo IEC.

Within the framework of the "Furniture Fasteners" section, participants will be able to demonstrate their products to a professional audience, establish new business contacts and find partners for the supply of fasteners, fittings and related solutions.
